Dayne Zorko 'sick of losing' with Brisbane Lions

BRISBANE'S 77-point loss to Port Adelaide last weekend was the 57th time in Dayne Zorko's AFL career he had been on the wrong end of a result ... and he's over it.

"I'm sick of losing," the midfielder told reporters ahead of tomorrow night's game against Collingwood.

Zorko, who has played on just 30 winning teams in his 87 games, acknowledged the Magpies, also under pressure after a 2-5 start to the season, would be desperate to get back into the winner's circle.

"Collingwood is obviously a proud club and they'll be thinking what a great opportunity it is to come up to Brisbane and silence the critics," he said. "It's our job to not let them do that."

He also admitted Brisbane's midfield needed to step up after going missing against the Power.

"We're the senior part of the team, the most experienced part of the team, and we probably let each other down and the whole team down by performing the way we did on the weekend," Zorko said.

"Our backline wasn't very strong on the weekend. I think the average games were 40 in the backline.

"For us as midfielders to let them down as well and allow the ball to come in that often was very disappointing."

While Brisbane was hurt by its lack of midfield pressure, Collingwood paid the price for a lack of defensive pressure by the forwards against Carlton. The Magpies had just four tackles inside the forward 50m in the first half.
