Daniel Jofre crowned winner of TBL Families

AUSTRALIA'S new Biggest Loser plans to make a career out of helping others improve their health and fitness.

Daniel Jofre was crowned the winner of TBL Families tonight after shedding more than 50kg.

"I've got a new fire in me for sure, not for competition but just to keep at it and to keep succeeding in life," Jofre told APN.

"I'm very interested in fitness now. Becoming at personal trainer is at the top of my list but I'm also interested in the nutritional side of things and working with kids."

The 24-year-old beat his older brothers Pablo and Tony for the title. Along with their uncle Rob, the family burned off 208kg during their time on the weight loss show under the tutelage of Michelle Bridges.

Jofre will split his $100,000 in prize money evenly with his three team mates.

"It was a family prize to be won," he said.

"We went into it as a family, and we left as a family. We didn't go into it for the money; that is a bonus."

When viewers first met the Jofre family, it wasn't uncommon for the Argentinean blokes to eat a tub of ice cream for breakfast.

"It just shows we didn't have any knowledge of food," he said.

"Food was just something to fill our needs, not just our stomachs but mentally as well.

"Cooking is definitely a big part of my life now."

Jofre is most proud of how he has inspired others in his life to lose weight.

"I've got at least three friends who've lost more than 20kg just by me inspiring them," he said.

But the larrikin is now focusing his efforts at the gym on putting on weight.

"I'm trying to put on lean muscle," he said.

"I'm not focused on my weight anymore; it's more about working on my physique. I'm going to try to get a six pack one day."

Channel 10 is yet to announce if the long-running franchise will return next year.
