Dane stars as Lismore cruises into Armidale final

ALL-rounder Dane Pratt was the standout yesterday as Lismore qualified for the final of the Under-15 Walter Taylor Shield cricket carnival at Armidale.

Lismore posted a total of 263 and bowled home team Armidale out for 144.

Pratt opened the bowling and took 6-16 after scoring 35 runs with the bat.

In the final today they will take on Hastings, which defeated Ballina in another third-round match.

"We're going really well and exceeded expectations already," coach Trevor Graham said.

"The boys are firing with the bat and improving every day."

Lismore were always going to be hard to beat after racking up 263.

Elliot Nance top-scored with 77 while Tom Carlton finished on 55.

Cooper Stahl also contributed with the bat, scoring 34.

Meanwhile, North Coast had a win over Central North at Singleton on the third day of the Bradman Cup Under-16 carnival.

North Coast chased down a total of 135 for the loss of just three wickets.

The team includes Far North Coast players Isaac Fisher, Lewin Maladay, Stuart Frost, Jeremy Perkins, Jacob Wood and Max Bryant.

North Coast defeated Central Coast in the second round after a 16-run loss to Western on the first day of the carnival on Monday.
