Cadel Evans to return to National Road Titles

AUSTRALIA'S 2011 Tour de France winner Cadel Evans could ride in next month's national road titles in Ballarat for the first time in nine years.

Cycling Australia announced at the weekend that Evans had registered for the men's elite road race on January 12.

The final decision will rest on how Evans' pre-season training has gone, as well as the verdict of his American BMC team.

If he does not race in Victoria, Evans will contest the Tour Down Under in Adelaide for the first time since 2010 from January 19.
