Cup fun for Our Kids

JUST over 200 well-dressed and ready to bet diners have taken their coveted seats at The Our Kids Melbourne Cup Luncheon today, among them Lismore Mayor Jenny Dowell, Federal Member for Page Janelle Saffin, State Member for Lismore Thomas George, and Australian Federal Assistant Treasurer the Hon David Bradbury.

With tickets sold out six weeks in advance, Our Kids fundraising coordinator Rebekka Battista said it was set to be a fantastic day, made possible by their "amazing" supporters and sponsors.

With fine dining and champagne flowing freely, those in attendance have the chance to win over $38,000 in prizes and giveaways for selections such as Best Dressed Mare, Best Dressed Filly, Best Dressed Stallion, and Best Hat.

Prizes include gorgeous pearl necklaces and earrings from the Fairmarket, Lismore Antique Centre, as well as surprise gift bags for every attendee, guaranteeing their very own "Oprah moment" said Ms Battista.

In its 10th year, the luncheon raises funds for Our Kids, the charity that purchases equipment for the children's wards and special areas in local hospitals.
