AS Aunty Ros Sten looked around the crowd gathered to celebrate NAIDOC week at the Lismore showground, built on her traditional land, she had a huge smile on her face.
"This is a special place," she said. "It is our country - it's just special here."
Up to 5000 people flooded through the gates during the day to share in the celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture making it, Ms Sten said, a great event offering 50 stalls featuring health and community services, entertainment and a bit of fun for the community.
"I think this NAIDOC has been the most successful yet," Ms Sten said. "Look at the crowds, they are growing every year.
