CSIRO expected to slash up to 300 climate science jobs

HUNDREDS of jobs could be lost from the CSIRO in the next two years with its climate science teams expected to face the worst of the blood-letting.

ABC News is reporting up to 300 jobs could be lost in the Ocean and Atmosphere, and Land and Water divisions.

Staff are expected to be told today, with sources telling the ABC that the CSIRO will attempt to move affected staff into other departments where possible.

No word yet on whether the redundancies will be voluntary or forced.
