CSG Declaration Day Held at Broadwater, NSW

Hello,
I would like the local community to be informed that the CSG declaration ceremony for Broadwater, Dungarubba, and Rileys Hill areas was held on Sunday September 29th at 4pm.
It is also important for the community to know that the Mayor, Ernie Bennett, has declined to attend the meeting. Although, 86% of our local community has declared that they do not want CSG in the area, our local government has failed to place importance on this issue and has failed to even listen to our voice by not attending community meetings. As many of you know, CSG mining is creeping up again in a big way thanks to the seeming support of the national government. We need to make sure that the government and mining companies know where we stand on the issue.
It is important to know what local government’s position is on the issue- as it affects the outcome for not only the Broadwater area, but the entire Richmond Valley. As most readers know Casino was location of the Metagasco mining site last year and seeing the direction the new government is heading it is popping it’s head up again soon. Unless the community continues to stay informed and fight the issue at full tilt, we are likely to face CSG mining in the near future. Please continue to stand up for what you believe in. We can do this together.
Kind Regards,
Tressa Kennedy
Rileys Hill, NSW
