ABOUT  200 people are gathered outside the office of Lismore Nationals MP Thomas George to protest against coal seam gas drilling.

The crowd has been chanting slogans, such as "short term profit, long term pain" and "can't eat coal, can't drink gas".

Several of the protesters have taken letters into Mr George's office. However, the MP has not personally appeared before the crowd and there are suggestions he is not currently at the office.
