Crow bar bandits hit Caltex

THE recent spate of hold ups on the Coffs Coast has continued with the Caltex Service Station in Toormina the latest target.

At 8.20pm on Wednesday night two male offenders with their faces covered entered the service station armed with crow bars.

The men approached a 21-year-old female employee, who was cleaning a bathroom at the time, causing her to fall to the ground.

One of the men then kicked the woman to the face before dragging her to the console area and demanding she open the register.

They fled with cash, a quantity of cigarettes, as well as the woman's handbag which contained her wallet and mobile phone.

Police were alerted and officers attached to Coffs / Clarence Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which was today examined by specialist forensic police.

The woman was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Investigating officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or any suspicious activity in the vicinity of Toormina Road last night, to come forward.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
