Creating time for art
PEOPLE with an artistic flair are invited to the Casino Library on Friday between 10am and 3pm to check out the local art group's gathering.
All are welcome to observe the art and chat with some of the members of the art group.
It is all about people with an interest in art sharing their passion.
"It is an opportunity to see the community's talent," said group member Kevin Linsley, who has been involved in art from a young age and will also be showing some of his paintings on the day.
The art group has been running for about 18 months and formed with the intention of attracting artists to rekindle their passion for art.
The group meets every second Sunday and anyone with an interest in art, or just wanting to learn, is invited to join, as the group is always looking for more members.
It provides a low-cost artistic environment on the Northern Rivers and promotes local art in the community.
The group started when local physiotherapist Tony Hennesy moved from Tasmania.
He had a patient admire some of the works hanging in his room and decided to create a local art group to get a few people together with the same artistic interest to promote communal art in the area.
The art group is also in charge of organising the art show at the annual Casino Beef Week.
