Crazy Contraptions Competition
Stage 2 students at St. Brigid's Kyogle entered the Diocesan 'Crazy Contraptions' Competition.
There was an overwhelming response to the inaugural competition with 26 primary schools involved which means that there were over 100 teams entered.
The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) unit provides students with the opportunity to explore forces and motion. Students had to develop an understanding of a force as an external influence that can change the motion, direction or shape of objects.
By building a 'Crazy Contraption' they needed to demonstrate 4 different uses of force.
Two teams will represent St. Brigid's in the next level of the competition. Well done to Jacob Rixon, Eva McErlean, Ciara Hieke, Baylee Dodge, Elsie Pratt and Kara Garred.
