Victims of crash to be farewelled

THREE young men killed in a car crash on the Pacific Highway at Ewingsdale will be laid to rest at separate funeral services tomorrow, Friday and Monday.

Jarah Blackett, 23, Todd Hepner, 25, and Byron Nicholson, 22, all of Ocean Shores, died after the car they were travelling in and a south-bound B-double truck collided at the junction of the Pacific Highway and Woodford Lane at Ewingsdale last Thursday night.

The first of the three funerals will be held for Jarah Blackett at the Byron Bay Youth Activity Centre tomorrow at 11am. All friends of Jarah’s are welcome at what is planned to be a celebration of his life.

Friends and family will farewell Todd Hepner on Friday at the family home, 55 Orana Road, Ocean Shores, from 2pm.

Byron Nicholson-Clausen – known to his mates as ‘Boz’ – will be farewelled with a service in the garden of the family home at 44 Gloria Street, South Golden Beach, on Monday from midday. It will be followed by a private cremation.

Mourners are asked to bring no alcohol to the service.
