Crash on Bruxner Highway east of Casino

AN INJURED man was trapped in his vehicle for a short time following a two car crash on the Bruxner Highway between Casino and Lismore this afternoon.

Richmond police Sergeant Steven Underhill said the incident was reported just before 2pm about 9km east of Casino in the Irvington locality.

The Bruxner Highway was closed in both directions for about 20 minutes while emergency services attended the scene.

The injured man, believed to be in his 20s, fortunately sustained only minor injuries and was transported to Lismore Base Hospital in a stable condition

One other patient was assessed and did not require transport.

At the time all Pacific Highway traffic between Ballina and Grafton was re-routed along the Summerland Way and Bruxner Highway following a truck rollover at Ulmarra earlier this morning, possibly adding to the intensity of the traffic.

The Bruxner Highway has since reopened, but stop-slow arrangements are in place, according to the NSW Transport Management Centre.
