LOCAL CSG protester Davey Bob Ramsey emerged from Casino Local Court a free man shortly before 10.30am today to the cheers of approximately 30 supporters.

The local musician and teacher was facing several charges for chaining himself to a bulldozer at a Metgasco site last month as a protest against the coal seam gas industry.

Magistrate Jeff Linden dismissed the charges under Section 10 of the crimes act and did not order costs or damages against Mr Ramsey.

Mr Ramsey was represented passionately by Sue Higginson from the Environmental Defenders Office.

The crowd outside the court presented a relieved Mr Ramsey with a cake and a beanie embroidered with "hero".
