FOR Lismore girls Lindley Schneider and Lauren Day, fashion and modelling are a must.

Both girls will be competing in the Country Girl Australia modelling and fashion career quest this year for the Miss Country Girl Lismore crown.

For Lindley, 15, the competition is an opportunity to gain valuable experience in the fashion industry.

"I just think it would be a really good experience even if I don't go very far with it," she said.

"I did consider applying a while ago, but was just way too nervous to do it."

Lindley said she hoped to follow in the footsteps of fellow Lismore model Liberty Bennett, who took out the Country Girl national crown last year.

SCU business student Lauren Day, 20, said the Country Girl quest was a great opportunity.

The soon-to-be university graduate said she would like to merge her love of fashion with her degree and start her own modelling agency.

"I was thinking of starting my own modelling agency, just start small and hopefully grow big," she said yesterday.

"In the meantime I would love to get into a really good agency myself."

Country Girl Australia is a national search focused in rural and regional areas across Australia.
