Bentley Art Prize now in it's 31st year

THE countdown to one of the Northern Rivers' best-known art competitions is underway.

This will the 31st year the Bentley Art Prize has been staged, co-ordinator Helen Trustum said.

It was a community event that attracted entries from people of all ages from surrounding districts, the attraction being the diversity of artwork created locally and from afar, she said.

Artists from across the region and beyond were encouraged to enter their work by registering their intention to submit art for display and judging at the Bentley Hall from Friday, July 31 to Sunday, August 2.

"The Bentley" was sponsored by many organisations including Tursa Employment and Training, Casino RSM Club and The Northern Star.

All proceeds raised from the event go towards the upkeep of the Bentley Public Hall, a focal point for the local community.
