Council gym to be open 24 hours a day

NOW there are no excuses to not go to the gym as the Goonellabah Sports & Aquatic Centre launches its new 24-hour gym SWITCH.

The modernised space includes full gym facilities and a brand new functional training centre as well as offering over 45 group fitness classes.

24 hour convenience

Gym Manager Roberta O'Brien said while SWITCH will continue to provide the premium service with personal trainers and ongoing support that Goonellabah Sports & Aquatic is known for, the reality is that in today's world many people want the convenience of a 24-hour gym.

"The beauty of SWITCH is you get the best of both worlds - the encouragement and personalised service provided by our professional staff if that's what helps you get the best results, or the option to visit the gym in your own time whenever it suits your lifestyle," Ms O'Brien said.

"We have made a name for ourselves building excellent relationships with our members and helping them to achieve their health and fitness goals. Now we offer the option to workout 24/7 plus we have a fresh new look that we know everyone, both current members and new, will absolutely love."

Launch event

SWITCH will be launched on Sunday, November 1 from 10am to 2pm with Mayor Jenny Dowell playing MC for the day.

The community is invited to check out the new gym for themselves and enjoy free group fitness classes, a sausage sizzle, Lorna Jane pop-up shop, prizes and giveaways.

Launch specials

People are also encouraged to take advantage of the one-off launch day specials, which include $200 off an 18-month premium membership, $100 off a 12-month premium membership or $50 off a gym-only membership. SWITCH has no joining fees.
