Coraki youth arrested and charged over break ins

POLICE have arrested and charged a 16-year-old Coraki youth who allegedly broke into two Goonellabah homes on Sunday morning while the owners were asleep.

The break-ins allegedly occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning at homes on Joy St and Canterbury Cl.

It is alleged the youth stole property including two sets of golf clubs, computer equipment, a backpack and navigation tools.

Police were called and secured both crime scenes.

Officers spoke to witnesses who saw a black Honda Civic at both locations.

Investigations by police led to officers conducting a search warrant at a Goonellabah address yesterday.

Most of the stolen items were recovered during the search warrant.

The 16-year-old Coraki youth was arrested in Lismore yesterday and charged with two counts of aggravated break enter and steal.

Enquiries into the break-ins are continuing and anyone with any information is urged to call Lismore police on 6626 0599 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
