CRICKET: Ben Cooper starred with both bat and ball as St Johns College Woodlawn easily accounted for Newman College Perth at the Marist Australasian Cricket Carnival in Bendigo yesterday.

Cooper took 3-26 as Woodlawn restricted Newman to 138 off 49 overs. He then made 40 not out from 24 deliveries as Woodlawn cruised to 2-139 in the 31st over.

Dain Moreton was another strong contributor for Woodlawn with an unbeaten half-century and 1-20 off 10 economical overs.

Woodlawn is now equal second in the championships and will play Auckland’s Sacred Heart College tomorrow.
