Comedian Dave Hughes Meets His Doppelgänger John Mellor

International Healing Minister John Mellor, finally had an encounter with his 'doppelgänger’ comedian Dave Hughes this week at Sydney Airport. 'Hughes' tweeted John last year to tell him, "Mate I've never seen anyone else who looks more like me!" John Mellor was therefore named unofficially the person who looks most like the famous iconic Aussie comedian. Many who hear John even say he speaks like Hughsey as well.
Hardly a week goes by that strangers don't comment on John's uncanny resemblance to the celebrity. "It's almost getting out of hand", John said recently.
"Once I walked into a sports store and the sales assistants began laughing, I knew why straight away!"
John says that strangers often stare at him, especially at airports and he always know why. "I can almost hear them thinking, 'I wonder if that's Hughsey.'"
John and his wife did a bus tour last year from Port Douglas to the Daintree and it wasn't long before the tour guide leaned forward towards John and softly said, "Has anyone ever told you look like.......".
One time John and his wife Julie were catching an airport shuttle to Brisbane airport and they had no sooner entered into the shuttle office when two of the employees began laughing to themselves. Without any shame they called out, "Has anyone ever told you look like.....".
John's wife Julie is beginning to get annoyed with this unwanted attention and John's even had thoughts of growing a beard!
The irony is that John worked as a professional comedian many years ago when he lived in Townsville.
John's learnt to laugh about it these days.
John jokingly asked Hughsey during their meeting if anyone had asked him for prayer for healing and Hughsey looked a bit perplexed. Well life is always full of surprises and you never know who youre going to meet next!!
