Can Allhappeningagain make it happen again?
GOLD Coast trainer David Kelly hopes it will be second time lucky past 1400m when Allhappeningagain steps up to the mile (1600m) at the Ballina Jockey Club TAB meeting today.
The three-year-old Lonhro colt tackles the XXXX Gold Benchmark 60 Hcp with Tim Bell in the saddle.
Allhappeningagain was tried over 1500m for the first time at the end of his preparation at Eagle Farm on November 23 last year and finished a disappointing 10th.
Kelly considered running the colt in Brisbane on Wednesday over 1600m but opted for what he described as "an easy option" at Ballina.
"He's had one go past 1400m and didn't run it out," Kelly said.
"He's strengthened up since then and gives every indication he's looking for the extra trip.
"But I want to see him do it (run out the trip) before I take him back to town against better class horses."

Allhappeningagain is raced by a syndicate that includes Luke Henderson, a part-owner of 2013 Melbourne Cup winner Fiorente.
Allhappeningagain is coming off a last start 1.8 lengths fourth to Flamboyer in a 1400m 3YO handicap at Eagle Farm on July 5 at his fourth run back from a 182-day spell.
"He came late and ran a nice fourth," Kelly added.
"He didn't get a lot of galloping room in the straight."
Kelly describes Allhappeningagain as "a big solid horse" who has done very well since his last start run.
"He's worked along real well in trackwork, looks well and ticks all the right boxes for Tuesday," he said.
In other races, the $25, 000 Gem Array Jewellers Ballina Bracelet (1250m) will run.
