Colour, prints lead party fashions

NEW Year's Eve is set to be a fashionable affair, with party-goers heading to Bundy's boutiques to stock up on new outfits for tomorrow night.

BMAC owner Brent McLellan said plenty of people had been to his Bourbong St store for some new threads for the weekend.

"In terms of what the guys will be wearing, the Capulet tees have sold really well here - they're the imagery prints and old-school photos on tees," Mr McLellan said.

Mr McLellan said dark denim pants had also been very popular with the men.

"For the girls we've been selling a lot of short shorts and maxi dresses," he said.

"There have also been a lot of the nicer cocktail-type dresses, and dress pants with body suits have been popular."

From Little Vintage boutique owner Sarsha Watson said Bundy girls had fallen in love with one-of-a-kind pieces.

"A lot of our one-off dresses made from recycled fabrics have been popular," Mrs Watson said.

"The older 1950s T-dresses and Peter Pan collar dresses have been really big as well.

"The little high-waisted skirts and bustiers are still in."

Owner of 3 Style Clothing Emma Stupkin said bright colours were also popular this New Year's Eve.

"They like the bright colours and sexy little black dresses," Ms Stupkin said.

"We've had some nice cool cotton maxis which they've been buying for beach parties."
