Coffs the hub of North Coast cricket

CRICKET NSW yesterday announced Coffs Harbour as their new base for its regional cricket manager on the State's North Coast.

The North Coast regional cricket manager will be responsible for delivering Cricket NSW's grassroots and development programs throughout the region, ranging from Gloucester in the south through to Tweed Heads in the north.

The position was previously based in Port Macquarie, however, following the recent resignation of long-serving Brett Rankin, Cricket NSW has made the decision to move its operations to a more central location.

Cricket NSW chief executive David Gilbert stressed the vital role the regional areas play in the ongoing success of cricket in NSW.

“Country NSW has produced many NSW and Australian representatives over the years. It is critical that Cricket NSW maintains a strong presence in these regions to ensure that the production line continues,” he explained.

“Our North Coast regional cricket manager will be working closely with the different regional zones and associations as well as schools and clubs.

“They will be our eyes and ears on the ground to make sure that cricket on the North Coast has the resources it needs to prosper.”

Cricket NSW are presently in the process of recruiting a new North Coast regional cricket manager to be based at Coffs Harbour.
