Coffs Harbour swimmer wins swag of medals at Worlds

ANNA Sydenham has swept the pool at the 2013 World Dwarf Games winning two Gold Medals, one Silver and two Bronze.

The inspiring local athlete will be welcomed home at Coffs Harbour Airport on Friday at 12.45pm.

"Anna has not just brought medal glory to Australia, but also to Coffs Harbour and her world-class swimming achievements deserve recognition and celebration," Coffs Harbour Mayor, Councillor Denise Knight said.

"Most people dream of winning gold medals at an international sporting event. Anna has reached that goal at just 17.

"She's another sporting star to add to the Coffs Coast's hall of fame."

Anna is a student at Coffs Harbour Christian Community School.

Her medals were all won in swimming events, but she also competed in field sports too.

She was one of 33 athletes to represent Australia at the Games which featured 395 participants from 17 countries.

The Games were held in Michigan and marked the 30th anniversary of the start of the event.
