Dad, daughter slashed in home

POLICE are hunting a man who slashed a teenager and her dad with a knife in their Coffs Harbour home.

Investigators say the violent home invasion happened in Calala Place at 9.40pm on Friday.

The girl suffered a large cut under her jaw which required 25 stitches while her father sustained a cut around the back of his head and ear.

Police further allege the intruder stole property from the home before fleeing.

“Police will allege the man was involved in a scuffle in the house and he may have facial injuries,” said Detective Inspector Cameron Lindsay, the acting Coffs/Clarence local area commander.

“We would like to hear from anyone who has information about this incident.”

The offender is described as 170cm to 180cm tall, aged in his early 20s, with a milky complexion, short dark spiky hair and a slim athletic build. Contact Coffs Harbour detectives on 6652 0299 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 if you can help with this investigation.
