Life imitates art for Archibald

LIFE literally imitated art when the Coffs Regional Gallery welcomed what is without doubt the most prestigious exhibition to ever come to the city.

To celebrate the arrival of the finalists in this year’s Archibald Prize local patrons were invited to come as their favourite portrait, and local artist Nigel Killalea didn’t disappoint, eerily replicating Adam Chang’s depiction of Simeon Kronenberg.

He was among a host of identities to give their all for art in an unusual tribute to Australia’s oldest and most revered portraiture prize.

The exhibition runs until October 27 at the Gallery which is open seven days a week from 10am to 4pm.
