Coffee, cakes and camellias at Alstonville

ALSTONVILLE GARDEN HOUSE nursery offers so much more than simply plants for sale.

Ann and Andrew Leslie renovated the cottage on their 50 acre macadamia farm to incorporate a gift shop and coffee house.

Andrew says the nursery stocks as much local produce as possible.

"We stock about 80% locally sourced plants," he said. "At the moment we have some great camellias, proteas, as well as grasses."

Ann says the nursery, gift shop and coffee house have made the farm an experience people like to savour.

"We have people come and stay for hours, enjoying coffee and cake, and wandering around the nursery," Annsays.

"You can sit and enjoy a coffee overlooking the nursery. It's just a lovely place to relax."
