OUR youngest ever Photo of the Day entrant has become our youngest ever Photo of the Day winner.

Cody Young, 12, took this sunset photo on his parents' North Casino property. It was submitted by his mum, Tymikka Young, on his behalf.

>> VOTE FOR TOMORROW'S PHOTO OF THE DAY

You might remember Tymikka from Tuesday's Photo of the Day, when her dramatic image of a storm front tied with a lovely sunrise photo taken by Sarah Rickard.

Cody had a comprehensive win, picking up 43% of yesterday's vote against some really tough competition. In her submission, Tymikka said Cody had been "playing around with my old camera" when he took the photo "and I think it's a pretty good shot for 12 years old".

We think so too and so do many of our Photo of the Day voters. Congratulations Cody.

Photo of the Day celebrates the beauty of the Northern Rivers and the talent of the region's photographers.

As well as appearing here, the Photo of the Day appears on Page 2 of our print edition, as the cover photo on our Facebook page and forms part of an expanding gallery, which you can see below.

To contribute one of your own images to Photo of the Day, simply head to our Facebook page and share it.

Now for tomorrow's Photo of the Day.

We have seven submissions for you to choose between. Hit the poll below and choose your favourite. You can see bigger versions of the photos in this gallery or by clicking the gallery link above the thumbnail images.

Voting closes at noon.
