Clarkes park wins tourism award

CLARKES Beach Holiday Park has been awarded a Commendation Award in the 2012 Caravan and Camping Awards of Excellence.

Chief executive of the Caravan, Camping and Touring Industry and Manufactured Housing Industry Association of NSW Lyndel Gray said the awards were an acknowledgement of excellence in the quality of products and services across the state.

Often there were only a couple of points between Winner and Commendation.

This excellent result was a testament to the strength of the industry and its operators, Ms Gray said.

More than 230 industry members from across NSW assembled at the Fairmont where the Awards of Excellence served as a grand finale to a two day conference (23-25 July) titled "Still Ahead of the Game".

"The 'Winter Wonderland' themed event would not have been possible without the sponsorship and support of the NSW Department of Primary Industries Catchments & Lands, Australian Turf Club Rosehill Gardens, Destination NSW, K-Mac Powerheads, Parable Productions and Tow-ed," she said.

"I congratulate all this year's winners, who have set excellent standards for our sector and for tourism in NSW."
