Toowoomba MKR chefs win second chance

QUEENSLAND cooks Sheri Eddington and Emilie Biggar will get a second shot at impressing the My Kitchen Rules judges this week.

The Toowoomba mates are one of six teams about to compete in the reality cooking show's instant restaurant redemption round, announced last night.

They will travel the country as each team is given the chance to show they have learned from their mistakes.

"Initially finding out, I wasn't happy," Ms Eddington told APN.

"I was really nervous and scared but then getting into it, it was all kind of a bit exciting.

"I do want Pete (Evans) and Manu (Feildel) to know we've listened and we've learned new things. We went in with the hope to do better than our last instant restaurant."

Four out of the six teams are all-female, but don't expect much cattiness around the dinner table.

"When I saw Katie and Nikki on TV, they came across quite abrupt and opinionated, but, honestly in real life, they are the most sweet, lovely girls," Ms Eddington said.

"We got along really well with them. I think people will try to put us against each other being blondes, but there isn't going to be a cat fight. They're really nice."

Ms Eddington and Mrs Biggar, who have both moved since filming the show, hope to do their hometown, and most importantly their grandmothers, proud.

"A few of my family friends live there and they're really excited about us representing Toowoomba," Mrs Biggar said.

"They're dying for us to go up and do some stuff at the schools and meet the kids."

The instant restaurant redemption round starts tonight with Adelaide's high school sweethearts Annie and Lloyd.

Ms Eddington and Mrs Biggar will cook tomorrow night.
