Run away to the circus and help a local cancer charity

TICKETS to the Great Moscow Circus will be on sale for under half price today only, with all proceeds going towards the Ballina Mother's Day Classic fun run.

The classic's event organiser, Jo Parker, said money raised goes to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

"Every ticket sold (for the circus) at the charity event, all the money will be donated to the Mother's Day Classic event," she said.

"It's raising money for breast cancer research."

Ms Parker launched the Ballina fun run three years ago when she moved up from Sydney.

"I used to participate in the event in Sydney and when I moved up to Lennox Head ... there wasn't an event here," she said.

"We're growing each year ... I'd love hit 1000 ticket sales next year."

The next fun run will be held on May 8, 2016.

Tickets to the Great Moscow Circus charity performance will cost $20 outside Harvey Norman Ballina from 9am today only.

Tickets are strictly limited and are cash only.

The charity performance will be held on November 18 from 7pm at the west end of River St.

Tickets to the remaining performances will be full price, and cost $55.

Performances will run until November 29.
