Christmas gig to get heavy

We all know that Christmas can be a difficult time with Christmas carols, family dinners and christmas shopping.

Sometimes you just need to get away from it all and listen to some good old fashioned heavy music.

Thankfully a group of bands have put on a gig for that very occasion.

Local band Collision will be playing their last gig for the year when they play the Lost Souls Xmas Event at The Tatts in Lismore on December 23.

Bass player Joel Avey said they had ensured special lighting for the gig as well as looking at a new cover and possibly new song for the gig.

Mr Avey said he was really excited to be playing with head-liner Beast Machine.

"Like us they have just started and they are already doing very well," he said.

Mr Avey said they had a heavy melodic driven sound with clean vocals and were already looking at many gigs next year.

He said the mix of bands was great and would make for a value for money night full of quality entertainment.

Local band Hybridize and Black Ghost Party will join Beats Machine and Collision on the night.

Doors open at 8pm and tickets are $8.
