Child pulled from swimming pool in Goonellabah

UPDATE 2.30PM:

A CHILD who was pulled from the water at the Goonellabah Sports and Aquatic Centre has been taken to Lismore Base Hospital.

A NSW Ambulance spokesman said when paramedics transported the young child they were fully alert and conscious.

INITIAL: PARAMEDICS are rushing to the Goonellabah Sports and Aquatic Centre where a young child has been dragged out of a pool.

A NSW Ambulance spokesman said paramedics were called to an address on Oliver Ave after reports a child had been dragged from a pool.

The child's condition is not yet known.

The Goonellabah Sports and Aquatic Centre pool only reopened this week after being closed for several weeks after damage to the pool lining was discovered.
