Child in hospital after being run over by car

A THREE- year-old is in hospital with a serious leg injury after a car he put into neutral rolled over his leg.

Police from Richmond Local Area Command said on their Facebook page that around 6.30pm last night the boy was playing in his parents car which was parked on Donaldson Street, Coraki.

Whilst playing, he shifted the transmission from park into neutral causing the vehicle to roll forward.

Realising what he did the little fellow jumped out of the car and in the process it rolled over his left leg.

The vehicle continued to roll down Donaldson Street for about 100 metres before colliding with the front of a house at the intersection of Queen Elizabeth Street.

Luckily no one was inside at the time.

The police said this is a timely reminder to parents not to let kids play in cars.
