Check your Lotto ticket in case you won

SOMEONE is $1 million richer after buying a winning Lotto ticket from the Evans Head Newsagency, but as of yesterday morning Lotteries NSW still hadn't tracked them down.

Newsagency owner Kevin Slatter said he got a "thrill" when informed he had sold the winning ticket in Wednesday night's Lotto draw.

But he was surprised to find out the registered winner had not yet claimed the prize.

"It's either a local person who has registered their home number and gone away, or it's a holiday maker in Evans Head who has given Lotteries NSW their home number," he said.

"Alternatively they've given their mobile number and simply aren't using their mobile."

Mr Slatter will probably never find out who won the cash, as they are entitled to keep it to themselves.

"But if someone walks up to me in the pub and says: 'here's that beer that I owe you,' I'll know who it is," he said with a laugh.
