Charity golf day raises $9000 for kids in hospital

THIS year's Local Government Charity Golf Day has raised a record $9000, which was presented to Our Kids at the Lismore Base Hospital children's ward yesterday.

More than 140 golfers from Sydney to Brisbane attended the day on September 6 at the Lismore Workers Golf Club. The annual event raises money for local charities helping children.

Our Kids fundraising co-ordinator Rebekka Battista said it was an amazing effort from organisers and she praised the hard work that will help Our Kids purchase specialist equipment.

Organiser, Lismore City Council's Anthony Magarry, said he was thrilled to have raised such a significant amount of money.

"We raised another $1000 from last year; I guess next year we now have a very clear goal and that's to crack the $10,000 mark," he said.
