Charged for drugs, ammo, bike
DRUGS, ammunition and cash were seized during a raid on an unauthorised car wrecker near Casino this week.
On Thursday morning, police attached to the Richmond Target Action Group searched the unauthorised car wreckers on Mongogarie Rd at Leeville.
They discovered $11,000 in cash, 500g of cannabis, a small sum of methamphetamine, scales, ammunition and a baton.
They seized a stolen KTM motorcycle, a suspected stolen Kawasaki motorcycle, a Commodore sedan and auto parts.
A 42-year-old man was arrested and charged with drug and stolen property-related offences including, drug supply, drug and prohibited weapon possession and goods in custody.
The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Casino Local Court on March 7.
The day before, in Byron Bay, another man was arrested for a separate goods in custody offence.
On Wednesday, police arrested a 22-year-old man on Bangalow Rd after he failed to provide a legitimate explanation as to where a few of his possessions had come from.
Police said on Thursday that they had two pushbikes at Byron Bay Police Station missing their owners.
