Changed traffic conditions at Pimlico from Monday

MOTORISTS have been advised that temporary acceleration and deceleration lanes will be built on the Pacific Highway south of Pimlico Road from Monday January 25, Roads and Maritime Services have said.

The new lanes will help heavy vehicles accessing the Woolgoolga to Ballina Pacific Highway upgrade including soft soil work site between Whytes Lane and Pimlico Road.

A 100 metre long deceleration northbound lane will be built south of Pimlico Road to allow project vehicles to access the work site. A 235 metre long northbound acceleration lane will also be built.

Work will take place between 7am and 6pm on weekdays and between 8am and 5pm on Saturday for one week, weather permitting.

Traffic control, reduced speed limits and temporary lane closures will be in place during work hours.

Motorists are advised to plan ahead, allow extra travel time and follow all directions.
