Chad dreams of making it big on stage in New York City
CHAD Shuttleworth has flown the coop.
The 24-year-old has moved to Warners Bay in Newcastle to further pursue his career in the music industry.
The former Eumundi singer-songwriter and guitarist said the move was the next step on his mission to reach his end game.
"Just to put it out there, my goal is to be standing on the Madison Square Garden stage, playing my own music to a crowd of 50,000 people with my friends, family and lady in the audience," he said.
Despite such grand plans, the musician is humble about his musical gifts and says being on stage is the most natural thing to him.
"My home is the stage," Shuttleworth said.
He explained even as a two-year-old he was destined to be a performer.
"I used to entertain the adults by performing magic tricks," the muso said.
Shuttleworth said it was a natural progression from there and no surprise when he picked up a guitar at 13 years of age and taught himself how to play it.
"I have gone from strength to strength - but it has taken a lot of hard work and determination," he said.
In his teens, Shuttleworth won Mud Bulls & Music Talent Search, and at Champion of Champions was awarded a scholarship to the CMAA College of Country Music.
His first single Tightrope was released and charted on CMC Country Countdown in 2008, gaining rotation on radio nationally.
Twice a finalist in the Toyota Star Maker Competition, Shuttleworth is now a full-time professional musician performing across the country at venues and festivals.
For Shuttleworth, 2013 is all about making a name for himself down south and in the not so distant future, releasing his new single, This is How We Roll.
He will also be supporting Aussie music legend, James Reyne on his upcoming tour.
"I thought 2012 was incredible, supporting Shannon Noll and Mark Seymour, but I have been a fan of James Reyne since I was about eight, making this really special," he said.
"(I feel) so grateful to be able to work with such an icon of the Australian music industry."
