Cereal offender to face court

A MAN will face court in Lismore on a charge of stealing an assortment of breakfast items.

Last Friday about 11.40pm a man carrying a two-litre bottle of milk and "making a crunching sound" was approached by a security guard at Lismore Base Hospital. The guard took the milk from the man and flagged down a passing police car to conduct a further search.

Police searched the man's jam-packed pockets and located an assortment of breakfast cereals as well as four sachets of margarine and one of Vegemite.

Police said no patients at Lismore Base missed out on breakfast the following morning.
