Celebrating the festive season the Goonellabah way
THIS afternoon Christmas cheer will fill the Goonellabah Soccer Club for a Goonellabah Community Christmas celebration.
The joint initiative of the YWCA and Lismore City Council as part of the Goonellabah Community Plan aims to promote reconciliation in positive and affirming ways, while having some good Christmas fun.
"What better way to get people together than at Christmas time with something fun and free for the whole family," Council's Youth and Community Development Officer Lizette Twisleton said.
"Sometimes spending time together chatting and sharing food is the best way to change attitudes and foster good relationships. It's simple but effective. We're all looking forward to a fun day."
From 3.30pm to 6pm the club will fill with fun, with live performances from Western Australian singer Kerrianne Cox, the YWCA playgroup and Kadina High School choir.
There will also be face painters, My Bumsqueak the clown and a jumping castle, plus a free BBQ and Christmas hamper draws with lots of entertainment for all ages, including a visit from Santa!
