CASINO West Public School’s netball team has taken the zone championship after winning the Primary School Sport Association Netball Knockout Gala Day at Lismore.

The girls won all four games they played and will progress to round five of the state-wide competition.

Casino West’s first game was against Bexhill, which Casino won 28-2.

The two Casino schools played each other in the second round, with Casino West defeating Casino Public 31-5.

Casino West had another two impressive wins in the third and fourth games, defeating Wyrallah Road 32-8 and Lismore Public 47-2.

The team scored a massive 138 goals on the day and had only 17 goals scored against.

Meanwhile, Kyogle High School’s under-15 rugby league team has progressed to the next level of the Country Rugby League Country Cup Championships, after defeating Woodlawn and St Patrick’s of Murwillumbah in a knock-out competition at Mullumbimby.

The Kyogle boys all played well, with defence their strongest feature.

Coaches Chris Duley and Tony Pratt praised all the boys for their sportsmanship and fair play.

The team will head off to Port Macquarie for the next level of competition.
