New hall and classrooms for Casino school

Casino Public School’s new hall and classrooms are a step closer with the call for tenders.

Country Labor MLC for Clarence, Greg Donnelly, today said a builder was expected to be appointed at the end of November with construction starting in the beginning of 2010.

“Included in this project is a new hall and a refurbishment of existing areas at the school to deliver new learning spaces," Mr Donnelly added.

The new hall will feature: raised platform; performance store; PE store; chair store; covered outdoor learning area; shower/toilet for students with disabilities; boy’s toilets; and girl’s toilets.

Existing spaces at the school will be converted to provide: a new administration block (from the existing assembly area); seven new classrooms (from existing library and administration area); six new classrooms in Block A; six new classrooms in Block B; and four new classrooms in Block C.
