Locals humble travelling Kiwis

CASINO Cavalier players Wes Koskela and Sam Dietrich starred for a local colts team when they defeated a travelling New Zealand Under-21 development team at Nielson Park, East Lismore, yesterday.

On a good batting deck, the tourists were bowled out for 198, with Koskela snaring 2-11 and Jake Nind taking 2-38.

The young Northern Rivers side chased down the total with five overs remaining, with Koskela top-scoring on 70, Dietrich remaining unbeaten on 54 and Sam Reading scoring 42.

It was the last of the Canterbury side’s tour games in Northern NSW.
