PLACES are now available for one of the region's money-spinning bowls carnivals.

South Lismore Bowling Club's men's two-bowl triples event offers $6500 prize-money and is expected to attract a handy field.

Entries from across the region and south-east Queensland are expected for the two-day competition, part of the Wilson St club's October carnival.

The event will feature three rounds of 15 ends on day one, with teams then graded into different sections for day two.

A-grade winners will pick up the $1500 top prize and there is other decent money available. Action gets started at 9.30am each day at the contest, which runs across the weekend of October 12-13.

Anyone wishing to enter should ring the club on 6621 3510.

More information and registration details are also available by emailing

Meanwhile, places are still available at the Brunswick Heads Women's Bowling Club's gala day.

Next Monday's competition will feature a fours competition played over two games of 13 ends.

To register, contact the Old Pacific Highway club on 6685 1328.
