Carnival was pitcher perfect

FOR the first time in several years the Timberjacks junior baseball carnival in Lismore was played in perfect weather.

Organisers were thrilled with how the event proceeded, with excellent crowds, a high standard of baseball in all age divisions and the appearance of Under-16 and Under-20 teams from New Caledonia.

"All players and supporters of the visiting teams were in awe of the facilities at Albert Park and are very keen to return next year," Northern Star baseball correspondent Robert Baxter said yesterday.

The only FNC team to reach a final was the Under-12s, who went down 3-2 to Brisbane Metro.

FNC finished second in the Under-14s, fourth in the Under-16s and third in the Under-20s.
