Carly leads the way for Trinity

CARLY Fuller helped lead her Trinity Catholic College team to a win in the Lyn Larsen Shield cricket carnival on Wednesday.

Fuller was named player of the Twenty20 carnival, retiring at 20 in both games and taking three wickets.

Twenty-six teams from 12 Catholic and public schools contested three shields around the region at Bangalow, Ballina and Lismore.

The top teams in the Adam Gilchrist and Matthew Phelps shields will play finals on November 19.

Quotients are still being calculated and the teams for the finals will be named next week.

Kingscliff took out the Ballina section of the Gilchrist Shield and Alstonville won the Bangalow section of the Phelps Shield.

It is the fourth annual schools T20 organised by the Northern NSW branch of the Lord's Taverners.

The winners of each shield will move on to take on Mid North Coast teams.
