Dog shaken but in safe hands after Banora Point crash

UPDATE: 11.30am

A DOG involved in a Banora Point car crash has been taken to a vet clinic, but is believed to be unharmed. 

After the driver and passenger were both taken to Tweed Hospital, Tweed District Rescue Squad volunteers cared for the dog, before taking it to a nearby vet. 

TDRS spokesman Jamie Stoddart said no one was trapped in the car, and the house did not require stabilisation. 

The dog, which was quite shaken, was believed to be a mini foxy. 

Further details on the condition of the driver and passenger were not yet available.

TWO people have been taken to hospital after a car slammed into a Banora Point home on Wednesday morning. 

Emergency services were on scene at the Woodlands Dr home until about 9.40am. 

A Fire and Rescue NSW spokeswoman said the fire crew from Banora Point dealt with the petrol which was spilled in the home's garage. 

It is unclear whether the impact led to any significant structural damage to the rental home.

A BANORA Point home has been left damaged after a car crashed into their home on Wednesday morning. 

About 8.30am, emergency services were called to the home on Woodlands Dr, near Monterey Ave, where a car appeared to have veered off the road, hit several object including a power box, before colliding with a parked car and crashing into the home's garage. 

A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said the driver, and an elderly male, were transported to Tweed Hospital.

A large amount of fuel has leaked into the garage. 

The residents were home at the time,.
