Car sales group applies to expand city operations

A TOOWOOMBA automotive group has applied to Toowoomba Regional Council to expand its CBD base of operations.

Armstrong Automotive Group, located in Neil St, Toowoomba, has applied to refurbish and expand its car dealerships and associated workshop.

According a development application lodged with the council. the development involves two sites - the first of which is the existing Armstrong Automotive Group business, located north of Gore St.

It currently accommodates a car showroom and associated workshop and the development application proposed to "rationalise the existing layout, modernise the buildings' presentation, improve traffic circulation and increase on-site carparking.

The changes will reduce the existing gross floor area by 185 sq m.

The second site is located to the south of Gore St on a currently vacant block of land.

"The development application seeks approval for a new car dealership … that will house two car brands and include outdoor display areas, new showrooms, a workshop and on-site carparking. The development will create 3395 sq m of new gross floor area."

The development is code assessable.
